Gia Felice is a publicist for a publishing house that
caters to the paranormal. Vamps, weres, aliens, witches,
humans; the clientele at the publishing house is varied,
and Gia handles the sometimes-peculiar wants and needs of
her clients with impressive ability and savoir-faire. Her
Rolodex is filled with who's who in the publishing world,
and when her friend and client Bella asks her for a favor,
Gia discovers that her Rolodex may be worth killing over.
When asked to use her varied contacts to locate the vampire
that made Bella, Gia doesn't initially realize she's after
a real psychopath, a vampire of unimaginable strength and a
willingness to kill for fun. Her best friend (and a
werewolf) Lola has her back and introduces her to a special
doctor when Gia is attacked after a night out. Between
handling Bella's current book tour and falling for Bella's
manager, sexy vampire Johnny, Gia uses her contacts to
locate the elusive Daniel, only to find the tables turned
and Daniel on the prowl for her!
Johnny isn't happy when he realizes Gia has been putting
her life on the line, and even less thrilled when Gia
proposes a solution to their relationship and the situation
with Daniel.
NECKING, a first novel by Chris Salvatore, is a fun
and original take on the paranormal world. Gia is a strong,
take-charge character who knows what she wants and goes
after it with both eyes open. She has an amusing sense of
humor, evidenced in the old and new jokes that fly back and
forth between herself and her paranormal friends. The
romance between Gia and Johnny is fresh and unique, and the
struggle between them is entertaining and will keep readers
turning the pages. Ms. Salvatore is an author to remember.
I look forward to her next story!
He always knew she was exactly his type -- B Positive
Gia Felice has a Rolodex full of vampires, werewolves,
witches, and aliens -- not to mention the livestock
suppliers, undead-friendly hotels, and sleazy bars that
cater to her clients' more carnal needs. Sometimes being
the premier book publicist to the underworld can suck --
literally. Especially if you're human. Especially if
you've got the hots for irresistible Johnny and his sly
half smile that shows just a little fang.
Her best friend, Lola, a werewolf, can't talk any sense
into her, and now Gia's agreed to help Belladonna
Nightshade, a New York Times bestselling vampire
author, find the supernatural killing machine who changed
Bella centuries ago...if he doesn't find Gia first.
Yesterday, Gia's biggest problem was how to get an alien
with a metal skeleton through airport security. Today
she's got a bloodthirsty boyfriend dying to get into her
pants, and an evil, centuries-old vampire on the hunt for
her. Who knew publicity was such a deadly business?
