Nicole de Leon has been raised as a princess. She is willful, wild, beautiful, and dangerous. She has a psychic talent, which she must keep hidden or be called a witch. This talent led her to try and kill the man that she now calls brother-in-law. Due to her father's and brother's death in the rebellion against the King, she has been made a ward of the King and he plans to wed her to a Welsh prince to consolidate his position in the Borders.
Instead she is taken from the convent, where she has lived, by Rhodri ap Daffyd so she can be delivered to her uncle. Her uncle plans to marry Nicole off to aid his plans.
Nicole and Rhodri run into a lot of difficulty as they travel to Wales. She keeps getting distracted and all the men after them make is hard to go directly to their destination.
Rhodri is puzzled and delighted by her. They will find themselves running from her uncle and the King's men. The passion that flares between the two of them will set everyone's plan back.
The characters in MAGIC IN HIS KISS are interesting and keep the reader entranced. While I enjoyed the first book the most, this is an interesting and enjoyable addition to the series.
