The demon world she has created is filled with a variety of shapeshifters, vampires, and other paranormal beings, and a society bound by honor and oath to protect humans from them. While the Aegi, the group that Tayla serves, doesn't know everything about the beings they seek to kill, they believe that they are fighting for the right cause. This is what makes it so confusing when Tayla finds out that not only might she be wrong about the being she's dedicated her life to killing, but that she might be one of them as well. Eidolon, on the other hand, is sugar and spice and everything nice, despite Tayla's repeated attempts to harm him. He tells her about her demon nature, and helps her learn to accept it, while at the same time using his Seminus powers to seduce her. The chemistry between these two is electric, and watching their relationship progress was enthralling. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the Demonica series, and Larissa Ione has entered my list of authors to watch.
