Romance Suspense

On day while real estate agent Julie Ferris and her sister Laura are spending the day at the beach, something strange happens. Afterwards neither Julie or Laura can explain what happened. Julie is left with these blinding headaches that no one can explain but, Julie believes that it has to with the stress , that she has been under since Patrick Donovan took over running his father's company.

Patrick parties hard, with woman, booze and drugs until he has a heart attack and nearly dies. After a stunning recovery, Patrick becomes a completely different man. Julie can hardly recognize the new man that Patrick has become. Julie's intuition is telling her something is not quite right but, she's not sure whether it has to do with the strange experience that she had at the beach.

As Julie's feeling for Patrick deepens, she's about to discover a link between the happiness that she has found and the strange beach experience that she had.

I originally found the idea of SEASON OF STRANGERS very interesting but, it didn't live up my expectations because it got just a little too creepy for me. Even though Julie and Patrick always had feelings for each, I didn't feel the connection between them and felt that their relationship was rushed as a result. I expected to Julie to be more suspicious of the Patrick's sudden transformation but, she really wasn't.

I also didn't like Julie's sister, Laura. She was very needy and I wished she would be more self-reliant instead of depending on Julie to fix everything. In contrast, I really liked Julie's character. I found her to be kind, strong and very reliable. She was the kind of person that you can always count on and I felt you really got to know her well -- her hopes, her dreams and her pain.

SUMMARY

Dedicated, driven real estate agent Julie Ferris is enjoying a day at the beach with her sister Laura when a strange, almost undetectable charge fills the air. Then, under the hot Malibu sun, time stops altogether.

Neither sister can explain their "lost day"—nor the blinding headaches and horrific nightmares that follow—but Julie chalks it up to the stress she's been under since her boss's son took over Donovan Real Estate.

Patrick Donovan would be a real catch if not for his notorious playboy lifestyle and matching attitude. But when a cocaine-fueled heart attack nearly kills him, Patrick makes an astonishingly fast—and peculiar—recovery. Julie barely recognizes the newly sober Patrick as the same man she once struggled to resist. Maybe it's the strange beach experience fueling her paranoia, but she can't help sensing something just isn't…right.

As Julie's feelings for Patrick intensify, she's about to discover how that day at the beach links her newfound happiness with her wildest suspicions.…
