Romance Paranormal

Sybils, an ancient race of warrior priestesses, have been fighting the battle between good and evil for centuries. Now they find themselves up against their greatest foe, the Legion, in a battle that could mean the end of all Sybils.

Riana Dumain's power is grounded in Earth. The other members of her triad are Merilee, grounded in air, and Cynda, grounded in fire. When their friend Andy, an NYPD officer with the Occult Crimes Unit, brings them a case involving the murder of a senator's son, she unknowingly brings into their midst a demon in the form of her partner, Creed Lowell.

The three Sybils recognize immediately the Other in Creed, but it's Riana who's attracted to the man and brings him into their world, knowing it could mean danger for her and others like her. When the Legion attacks the Sybils on their home turf, Andy and Creed join their fight, and Creed is forced to reveal the demon residing within, a demon controlled only by the ring he wears. When the symbol on the ring is connected to the Legion, and Creed's true nature is revealed, all that Riana holds dear is threatened. She's forced to choose between her past and the fight she believes in, and the man she loves, and only by making the right decision will Riana and her friends triumph.

BOUND BY SHADOW is the first of Ms. Windsor's Dark Crescent Sisterhood novels. This paranormal adventure introduces readers to the world of Sybils, Cursons and Asmodai in a storyline that's both entertaining and intriguing. Riana is an intelligent, strong lead, guided by her sense of right and wrong, but in touch with her softer side that lets her believe in love when all around her is falling apart. Creed is the perfect foil for Riana, bound by duty and torn by the demon he has trouble controlling. The world of the Sybils is definitely a place I look forward to visiting in the future.

SUMMARY

Riana Dumain is a fully trained Sibyl, a warrior priestess battling evil whose practical magic keeps her grounded in earthly science--and desires. She knows that gorgeous NYPD detective Creed Lowell is dangerous, and possibly a foot soldier for the evil Legion cult, using his badge and drop- dead looks to consolidate demonic power.

Creed's low profile Occult Crimes Unit pulls Riana and her two sister Sibyl into the case of a politician's son, murdered in a ritualistic sacrifice. Soon, Riana's instincts prove true. Creed, the hottest half-human she's ever known, a demon in bed and out, is guarding a trapdoor to hell. And unless Riana can find a way to tame her mystery man's treacherous inner self (and her heart), all of Manhattan may be enveloped by darkness.
