Megan Sweeney is used to being treated like one of the guys. In high school, she was a jock who hung out with the boys, she played just about every sport, and she can pick a winning team during the playoffs better than most of the men in her small town of Skull Creek, Texas. When Meg decides to shed her tomboy image, the townspeople have a hard time with the transformation. Meg wouldn't have such a problem with their reluctance if good friend Dillon Cash hadn't transformed himself from geek to heartthrob in just two months. With Dillon's help, Meg is determined to learn the secret to becoming sexy, alluring, and irresistible to the opposite sex so that she can appear in the "Hot Chicks" list of her local newspaper. But when he seems reluctant to help her, Meg just becomes more determined to learn his secrets.

Dillon Cash was an ordinary computer technician before he was transformed into a vampire. Along with the need for both blood and sex, he also gained a charismatic personality and an impossible to resist rakish charm that has women falling at his feet. Not quite used to these new talents, Dillon tries to avoid his family and friends, including Meg, while seeking a way to regain his humanity. But Meg refuses to take no for an answer, and before he knows it Dillon finds himself giving her lessons on seduction, which trying not to fall for her at the same time.

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS is part of Kimberly Raye's Love at First Bite series, but it wasn't one of those books where you need to have read the previous ones to follow along. I haven't read any of the others, and I never found myself wondering what was going on. This was just an entertaining and easy story that I could enjoy at my leisure. Megan was a humorous and easy-to-relate to heroine. I think everyone has at one point tried to make themselves over with pretty disastrous effects, so it was amusing to watch her floundering through her attempts. And Dillon was sexy for a newly turned vampire, and not at all helpless and confused as can sometimes happen with this sort of character. As a whole, I enjoyed this funny, quick read and would definitely read the others in the series.
