Brought into the world of the Kynn against his will, Adrian Roth wants revenge. Born an Amhais, or Shadow- Stalker, Adrian possesses the ability to see the creatures of the occult, and is bred to destroy them. Unfortunately, in his quest to vanquish the evil that preys upon the human race, he kills the sire of Lord Devon Carnavorn. And Lord Carnavorn wants Adrian to pay. His ultimate punishment, to turn Adrian into the one thing he hates most in the world: One of the occult, a Kynn, forever condemned to feed upon humans for their sexual energy.
Adrian exists in limbo, torn between the loathing for the creature he's become against his will, and the constant lure of his dark desires. The only thing continuing to keep him alive is his drive to put an end to the man who stole his humanity. If he loses his life in the process, so be it. The rage that has simmered for nearly half a century is coming to a head, everything falling into place exactly as he'd planned, until the evening he stumbles upon a beautiful woman being attacked in a park.
Cassie Wilson has everything, beauty, money, and sadly, a terminal illness. When a handsome stranger comes to her rescue one night wearing blue jeans and leather, and riding a beat up Harley, she feels she's finally found her knight in shining armor. Except in her fairy tale he's riding in on a hog instead of a white horse. Having been married five times, Cassie's had her share of men. But something about her mysterious savior calls to her as no other.
Cassie has never wanted a man so badly in her life, and can't understand why Adrian continues to hold back. She sees the evidence in his body of how desperately he wants her, and she's determined to seduce him into changing his mind. As a sexual vampire who drains the energies of their victims, Adrian won't allow himself to use Cassie the way his body demands. Nor can he ever tell Cassie the truth about what he is and drag her into the nightmare of his world. There is no place for her in his life. In his mind, there is only one path for him, the one that will leave Lord Devon Carnavorn dead.
Devyn Quinn delivers a sexy, dark and inventive tale of vampirism. SINS OF THE NIGHT is Ms. Quinn's book two of her Kith and Kynn series. The sexually graphic scenes are hot, and well written, but for an erotic novel, I found the book a little slow to deliver, and lacking in quantity. The plot is interesting and the characters complex. While the hero, Adrian Roth, is sexy and likable, I was surprised to find myself more drawn to her secondary character, Morgan Saint-Evanston. For me, he stole the show.
Once, Adrien Roth was a Shadow Stalker--a hunter of vampires
called the Kynn. Captured, he was forced to pay a
devastating price and become the very thing he despised.
Almost a century has passed since that time and Adrien's
quest for justice has not ended. But only one woman can
redeem his soul: a beautiful mortal named Cassie Wilson.
In Adrien's arms, Cassie will experience the ultimate sexual
awakening, for her demon lover is a master of pleasure.
Together at last, lost in a shadow-world of unusual desire
and risking their very lives for love, she and Adrien are
compelled to surrender to the powerful passion that consumes
them...
