I have been following Lara Adrian's Breed series with great interest. I'm happy to report that each book just gets better and better. I especially enjoy the fact that with each book, Lara feeds us more and more information on the Breeds and their Breedmates.
This is Rio's book. If you have read previous books, you will remember that Rio's Breedmate Eva betrayed him and the entire Breed complex. After Rio was horribly disfigured, she killed herself.
Rio volunteers for the mission to find the ancient and secure the cave where he was supposedly buried. Rio has a hidden mission in mind. While he stays behind to hide the cave, he will make sure he is trapped inside the cave forever thus ending his pain and suffering.
Rio doesn't count on Dylan Alexander finding the obscure cave and actually feeling his presence in the cave even though it is dark and he does his best to hide. H realizes that his reflexes aren't at their best. Then he finds out that Dylan is a reporter and may have not only compromised him but his entire Breed clan. He and his clan know they have to do everything they can to wipe out this threat.
Rio and Dylan cannot know the power of their attraction though. Rio thinks he is too messed up to have someone like Dylan and Dylan has problems of her own she needs to work through. Can they ever have a happy ending to their supposedly doomed relationship? Read the book.
Lara Adrian pulls me further and further into her Breed world with each succeeding book. She only leaves me with the longing to know more about this incredible race of beings and their Breedmates. I highly recommend this book and eagerly look forward to learning more about the Breeds.
