A Monday night therapy group brings six women from
different walks of life together. Each of them is rich and
successful in their present positions and therein lays the
problem. They have all reached an impasse in their
professions. They need another goal to strive for and to
tear them away from their current plateau. When one of
them, Ginger, ends up dead outside an all men's club, the
remaining five women need closure on her death. Who could
have killed Ginger? Why does no one but them seem to be
affected by her loss?
Polly, Dinah, Kat, Charlotte, and Justine are drawn closer
together by Ginger's murder. Since the police are not
interested in investigating her death, the group decides to
mete out a little justice of their own. They know that
Ginger was a call girl, but who was she with on the night
she died? Through resources available to each of them,
they are able to piece together pieces of Ginger's life.
They learn that she was with three men the night she was
killed. The women decide that even if these men did not
physically kill her, they need to pay for their inactive
role in her murder. Using their connections, they gather
as much information as possible about the men. They need
to know everything so that the can exact their revenge.
How far are they willing to go to punish these men?
Susan Diamond has crafted a remarkable novel. She is
meticulous in her writing and her characters are methodical
in their revenge. There is nothing like a common goal to
bring people closer together even if that goal happens to
be revenge. The women's bonds of friendship are
strengthened and they gain a deeper understanding into what
motivates them. The story had some interesting twists and
through it all I was riveted to the pages. This was a very
engaging read. WHAT GOES AROUND is a tribute to friendship
and ultimate loyalty.
When the body of bored housewife and high-priced call
girl Ginger Pass is found outside the most exclusive men's
club in California, the other members of her self-help
group—Polly, Kat, Charlotte, Dinah, and Justine—are
convinced it was foul play. Determined to find a way to
prove it, they track down the trio of rich, powerful men
they know are responsible for their friend's death. Hidden
behind walls of money, connections, and respectability,
these men seem to be untouchable. But like Robin Hood's
merry men, King Arthur's knights, and the Girl Scouts rolled
into one, the adventurous and brave quintet of women will
risk everything to bring these men down.
They know
what will happen if they fail. But Polly, Kat, Charlotte,
Dinah, and Justine don't count on the ways their lives will
change when they succeed. What goes around comes around . .
. and Ginger's friends may finally get the lives they most
want.
