Abby Shaw runs Divinity, the local candy shop, in Paradise, Colorado. She is in the middle of making a batch of candy when she receives a phone call about the arts festival. It seems that the mayor has replaced the head of the committee with Felicity Asbury, a very opinionated and overbearing woman. Felicity has already made a list of do's and don'ts for the festival, and the artists are in an uproar. Since Abby is the second in command of the committee, she is being asked to mediate with Felicity. Abby tries talking to Felicity, but she leaves the Asbury home filled with frustration and possibly without a booth in the arts festival. The next morning she finds Felicity's car outside her shop along with her dead body inside. Who could want Felicity dead? Better yet, who wouldn't want Felicity dead?
Rumors abound quickly in a small town, and Abby finds out that many people believe that she had something to do with the murder. After all, the body was found outside her shop. Plus there is the speculation that she threatened Felicity over the arts festival, and that she called Felicity and asked to meet her outside Divinity the night Felicity was murdered. Abby knows that they are only rumors, but the police are bound to suspect her especially since she can be linked to the murder weapon. She is determined to prove her innocence as well as maintain her business. Is that too much to ask for? Will she find the culprit in time? Or will it be too late for her?
