The victim lies bleeding in the street as the ambulance
comes screeching to a stop. As the paramedic begins CPR,
she notices a bloodstained envelope clutched in the
victim's hand. He forces her to take it and in a voice
wrought with pain, says, "Give...to Mitch Edwards...swear."
Paramedic Kirke Palmer knows she's breaking the rules as

she's been thrown into a street to die. She and Jake meet
and are running for their lives. Kirke is in a situation
more serious than she ever thought possible. Jake is
obsessed with clearing his name and, at the same time,
protecting this strong, courageous woman he's falling in
love with.
