Anthony Dante has been visiting his wife's grave every Sunday for the past year. He comes early because it's such a peaceful time and because he can talk to Angie without having to worry about someone thinking he's a nutcase. It's on this particular Sunday, with a good cup of coffee in hand, that Anthony shares a couple of important pieces of news. First, Michael Dante, his little brother, just retired from his career as a professional hockey player for the New York Blades to stay home and be a full-time dad while his wife Theresa goes back to work. And second, the old candy store across from Dante's Ristorante (a lifelong fixture in Bensonhurst) is being turned into another trattoria. Good luck to them is how Anthony feels. They're about to enter the big league.
Vivi Robitaille sees Americans as people willing to take risks and dream big. That's why she moved from France to New York to follow her dream of opening up a small French bistro. Vivi would like nothing better than to have people staring dreamily into each others' eyes over a bottle of Bordeaux. Even as a small child, she knew she was destined to be a chef.
Vivi crosses the street to Dante's to introduce herself. This is when Anthony, stirring his family recipe for "gravy," meets Vivi for the first time. She just "pops in to say hello," but before leaving, she has the nerve to criticize his cooking. Of course, Anthony also has the audacity to criticize her coffee. However, it isn't long before Anthony is enjoying Vivi's Pineapple Flan and Vivi is enjoying Anthony's Ricotta Fritters and these two chefs are enjoying each other.
It was so enjoyable to return to Bensonhurst and Dante's Ristorante. We get caught up on Michael and Theresa's family, which is grand (with a few surprises from their children). JUST A TASTE is a delightful "off the ice" love story that scores big and will have your taste buds tingling. Meeting Anthony and Vivi is enchanting, fun and very sexy. JUST A TASTE captures your heart and takes you to a tender place. It will make you laugh and melt your heart at the same time. Don't miss this wonderful and newest chapter in the Dante family. It's another winner by Deirdre Martin.
