Superhero Fiera's alter ego Fiona Fine has designed the wedding dress for fellow superhero Karma Girl, and that's the main reason she's shown up to see the former reporter marry Striker, another member of the Fearless Five. It's just Fiona's good luck that Johnny Bulluci is in attendance, and the two strike sparks off one another from the moment they meet. Unfortunately, getting to know one another takes a backseat when ubervillains Siren and Intelligal crash the wedding and attempt to make off with all the guests' jewelry. Using her super sultry voice as a weapon, Siren soon has all the men willing to do her bidding, and it's Fiera and Karma Girl who save the day.

Fiona and Johnny are soon seeing one another, but it's another encounter with Siren and Intelligal that reveals Johnny's dark secret to Fiona. Johnny Angel, the motorcycle riding protector of the innocent believed to have been killed months before by one of Intelligal's super bombs, has been resurrected and is out for vengeance. And Johnny Angel is none other than Johnny Bulluci, grandson of the original Johnny Angel and son of the murdered Angel. Although Fiona understands Johnny's desire for revenge, murder goes against the superhero code, even for ubervillains, and she finds herself defending the villains from the man she loves. It's only when the entire city is threatened with mind control by the evil Siren and Intelligal that Fiera, Johnny and the rest of the Fearless Five unite with a common goal.

HOT MAMA, Jennifer Estep's follow up to the exceptional KARMA GIRL, is another can't-put-down, laugh- out-loud adventure! This one delves a bit more deeply into the personal lives of the Fearless Five, revealing more of the quirkiness of a group of misfits who've banded together for the greater good and created a place for themselves in society. Fiona handles her need for vast amounts of food with humor and her coming to grips with a new relationship after the death of her fiancé is touching. Johnny is a perfect foil for this out-there woman, and their relationship is at turns tender, funny, adversarial, and oh- so-sexy! HOT MAMA scores big and has a spot reserved on my bookshelf right next to KARMA GIRL! I can't wait to see what Ms. Estep comes up with next!
