Ophelia Jensen's life is full. Her grandmother, Abby, is
helping her refine her psychic talents. Her Aunt Dot is
coming for a visit and now, she's been given permission to
officially adopt Tink. When Tink starts dreaming of
corpses coming out of the woods missing arms and legs,
Ophelia does her best to calm her down. After all, neither
Abby nor Ophelia is sensing anything. Ophelia is
determined to stay out any investigation even after one of
the dogs pulls a skull out of the woods and a local
mortician is killed in a most unusual way.
Aunt Dot, who talks with the fairies, and Tink are anxious
to determine who killed Mr. Buchanan. Their attempts at
investigation are drawing a lot of attention from local
police.
When Tink is kidnapped, Ophelia finds herself drawn into
the investigation. With her beloved daughter in danger,
Ophelia goes off half-cocked. She fights with Darci, her
best friend. She attacks a couple of people that she
believes to be involved in Tink's disappearance. If it
weren't for the return of Ethan Clement of the DEA, she
might have ended up in jail. Together, Ophelia and Ethan
will discover the reality of the illegal body tissue market
and the horrors people will commit seeking to make a
profit.
The return of a character from a previous book in the
series will lead to their discovery of Tink's whereabouts.
Ms. Damsgaard has developed series with some unique and
interesting characters. There was a darker element to this
book than some of the previous ones with the body snatcher
plot. However, I had a horrible time putting it down once
I started to read. The reluctance of Ophelia to accept and
work with her talent will strike a chord with readers. I
look forward to the next entry in the series.
Pyschic librarian Ophelia Jensen has an exciting
life––solving supernatural mysteries with her
Grandmother Abby and her adopted teenage daughter, Tink, who
also happens to be a medium. But, all Ophelia really wants
is to create some normalcy and routine.
When
Ophelia's elderly Great–Aunt Dot comes to Summerset,
Iowa, for a visit and is out from the watchful eye of her
older sister, Dot is determined to find a little fun and
excitement, too. The gruesome murder of a funeral director
in a neighboring town gives her just that. She's heard
stories of Ophelia and Abby's adventures and she wants one
of her own, but Ophelia is dead set against it. She's had
enough murder and mayhem, thank you very much, but her spry
great–aunt has other ideas. And it seems that even the
Fates are conspiring against Ophelia, when Tink starts
dreaming of ghastly ghosts imploring her for help Ophelia
knows that there is another adventure about to unravel.
