Alexandra Butler is a self-sufficient woman. After her
husband left her, she went to college and worked hard to
make her interior design business successful. Her
business in Piper Cove is thriving, and now her father has
asked her to help with her sister Lynn's wedding. Alex
recruits her best friends, the Bosom Buddies - Jan, Ellen,
and Sue Ann to help with the wedding plans. As they are
discussing the preliminary details, Josh Turner walks in.
He hasn't been seen in Piper Cove in sixteen years since
he left Alex behind to pursue his dream. At the sight of
him, Alex loses all concentration. She is not sure how
she feels about his presence at this particular time, but
she has a more important matter to attend to. She is
determined to forget about Josh, but she keeps running
into him. Will Josh break her heart again? Will she be
able to pull off the wedding and make her family proud?
Josh Turner left Piper Cove to become a guitarist for a
band. He was good, and made a lot of money.
Unfortunately, an accident left him unable to play the
guitar; however, the accident made him turn his life
around. He now is a man of God and wants to right some of
the wrongs in his life, and that means facing the woman he
left behind. He could not believe the way God brought him
back to his hometown. He returns to Piper Cove to be the
best man in a wedding, the wedding for Alex's sister,
Lynn. Alex's father, B.J. has never liked him, and Josh
has to squash the urge to rub his success in B.J.'s face.
He knows that no amount of success will change the fact
that he hurt B.J.'s little girl. Once he sees Alex, he
knows that she is no longer the same woman that he left
behind. Will he be able to convince her that he has
changed? Will they be able to have a second chance at
love?
Linda Windsor has written an uplifting romance. Her
characters are believable and far from perfect. Alex is a
woman who likes to be in control, but she cannot seem to
trust herself when she is around Josh. Josh cannot
believe how much he is in love with Alex, but he knows
that he has to go slow. Each has to learn to rely on God
to give them the strength they need to be together. The
Bosom Buddies are a wonderful group of friends, but they
can also be a bit mischievous. They provide a great bit
of fun. Ellen, Jan, and Sue Ann each have their own
stories coming out, and I cannot wait to read about the
men who take their lives by storm. WEDDING BELL BLUES is
a fantastic romance that proves that sometimes there is a
second chance for love.
Wedding Bell Blues
tells the delightful story of four best friends who have
returned to
their small hometown on the eastern shore of Maryland, Piper
Cove.
Alex Butler is a successful home decorator who hopes she has
finally
gotten her life together. But when Josh Turner, the man who
ran away
and broke her heart sixteen years ago, returns to Piper Cove
to be the
best man in her sister's wedding, Alex can't escape the
butterflies in
her stomach. But Alex has no time for distractions, her
family has
enlisted her to make this the wedding of the century. To
pull the event
off, she pools the talents of her three best friends - Jan,
who creates
desserts to-die-for will help with the cake and catering,
tomboy Ellen,
who works at a landscaping business will handle the flowers and
decorations, and Sue Anne, who can . . . well, Suzie Q can
give Alex a
much-needed reality check in the course of the wedding
planning chaos.
But fate won't be stopped in this small town as Alex and
Josh keep
running into each other at every turn. When sparks fly, Alex
soon finds
herself caught in a paralyzing battle of the heart between her
old-fashioned Southern father, who fiercely resents Josh for
breaking
his little girl's heart, and her feelings for the one man
she ever
truly loved.
As the wedding approaches, the Butler
family
faces a threat to their reputation that will shake this
Chesapeake clan
to their very core. In the midst of it all, can Alex and
Josh resist
the many forces that seem to be drawing them together?
