Bobby and Joelle had known each other since they were ten.
"Love at first sight" would be the description from Bobby.
"Friends forever" would be how Joelle would describe them.
By the time they hit high school, Joelle had fallen madly in
love and snagged the rich boy from the Hill. Bobby on the
other hand had played the field with the girls from Tubtown,
the other side of the tracks kind of neighborhood. Joelle
was going places, just not the places she expected.
When Joelle found herself in trouble she turned to her
friend. As always, Bobby was there for her. They married and
lived a life full of children, grandchildren, love and
trust. At least that was what they thought until the past
came to call one day.
Bobby and Joelle were suddenly faced with the lies that had
kept them together and could now tear them apart. Was their
marriage strong enough to be maintained in light of this
exposure, or would it be the end for them?
THE MARRIAGE BED was a great story of love's ability to
endure hardships. The characters were realistic and their
hardships were authentically portrayed. It was a touching
love story that gave hope for long lasting relationships. A
very pleasant and enjoyable read.
Joelle and Bobby…I'm aware my visit might have been
difficult for you."
Difficult? In fact, nothing would ever be the same again
for Joelle Webber and Bobby DiFranco. They'd come a long
way from their hardscrabble beginnings. They'd built
careers, raised a wonderful daughter and two fine sons.
Shaped a life rich with layers of trust and understanding,
just like the carefully laid stones of the garden walls
Bobby builds for his clients.
And their life together would have remained solid if not
for the unexpected intrusion of a former boyfriend of
Joelle's and the long-buried secret he unearths. Bobby and
Joelle have leaned on each other through countless crises,
but now the very foundation of their marriage has crumbled.
Can they put it back together one more time?
Can they once again find a haven in their marriage bed—the
one place above all where a husband and wife should be
honest and loving with each other?
