Romance Paranormal | Paranormal

Aragon, half-man/half-wolf and a member of the Shadowmen, gives up his world for a half-existence and eventual death to hunt the rogue Blood Hunter, Pathos. Pathos is evil incarnate, frightening in his intensity and out to take over the world. He's come to the Tennessee Mountains to search for his son, Dr. Cinatas, who disappeared when the medical clinic Sno-Med was blown up.

While searching for her sister, Stephanie, who used to work at Sno-Med, Dr. Annette Bastista discovers a mysterious amulet. Keeping the amulet with her, she unwittingly calls the previous owner to her. When Aragon appears in Annette's bath, brought there by the power of the amulet, it's hard to tell who's more surprised by his appearance. They quickly discover they have a common goal. Pathos is also tied to Stephanie Bastista's disappearance.

Annette and Aragon, working along with their friends Jared and Erin (from TOUCH A DARK WOLF), Sam, Emerald, Nick and Emerald's pre-cognitive daughter, Meggie, gather information from the burned out Sno-Med and discover where Stephanie has been taken. In the process, Annette attracts the attention of Pathos, who's determined to make her his in a sick game of control. When they meet up in Belize to rescue Stephanie, all hell breaks loose (literally) and Logos, the power over all the Guardian Forces, intervenes in the battle between Aragon and Pathos.

THE LURE OF THE WOLF by Jennifer St. Giles is a fantastic follow-up to TOUCH A DARK WOLF, the first in The Shadowmen series. This book goes more in depth about the vastness of the evil permeating the world and sets the scene for a heck of a battle in the future. St. Giles has created a group of villains that are truly frightening in their evilness and laid out clues to how deeply the evil infiltrates the lives of the heroes and heroines in past and future books. This is definitely a series to read in order, and I look forward to the next book!

SUMMARY

Mighty warriors sworn to protect humanity, the shape- shifters known as The Shadowmen move between two worlds. Now their dark leader has exiled himself from the spirit world, opening the door to the forces of chaos...and to the power of love.

Half wolf, half man, Aragon has abandoned his brethren to repay a debt of honor; he is sworn to kill a rogue Blood Hunter, though exacting revenge will doom him to a ghostly existence trapped between two worlds. But when a mortal woman unexpectedly calls him to her side, the heat of her soft flesh arouses a hunger in him that threatens to complicate his mission.

Dr. Annette Batista, a dedicated healer, is determined to find her missing sister. With the amulet found at the site of her sister's disappearance, she unwittingly summons a shadowy warrior. She wonders if she can trust this powerful male named Aragon, who claims he can vanquish her sister's captor -- the very monster he's vowed to destroy. Or is Annette blinded by her shocking passion for the most alluring, mysterious man she's ever seen?
