Julia and her sister Tina went their separate ways many years before because of a lot of reasons, but mainly because of their rivalry for Cameron Birch. Cora loved both of her girls, so when the news of Tina's suicide came, she called Julia home to the mountains to help take care of her eight - year old niece, Katie. As coincidence would have it, Cameron came home to take care of his emotional wounds in the mountains as well.
Although Cameron was pretty sure of his jeep's abilities, a horrific storm caused hazardous driving conditions. The roads were slippery, and Cameron's jeep plunged down the ravine. Julia rushed to save his life. Having no one else, Cameron begged Julia to take care of his physical wounds. How could she do that and not get involved emotionally with the man she had adored so many years before?
As Cameron and Julia rekindled flames from the past, Katie began to rebuild her life again with the people who loved her. Things seemed perfect, but nothing lasts forever. As Julia prepares to resume her life back in New York, Tina gets one last secret in, a secret that could once again destroy everything for Julia and Cameron. Julia is in a "catch twenty two" and must find a way to make things right for everyone.
Cynthia Thomason's HER SISTER'S CHILD is a wonderfully touching love story. The characters face real life situations that test the limits of their love for one another, not only between a man and a woman, but between family members. The plot is creatively charming and multi-faceted. Accolades to Ms. Thomason for an uplifting and sweet read.
