In 13th century Scotland, Connor has vowed never to marry
after being betrayed by a woman he loved. The laird has
decided to marry Connor's sister off to repay a huge debt.
Connor is sworn to protect his sister until she finds her
true love, but since he's in service to the king, he must
marry first. Once married, his king will release him, and
he will be allowed to stay home and care for his sister.
Connor will do anything to save his sister from this
arranged marriage.
In his search for a wife, fae magic sends Connor to present-
day Denver and into the bedroom of Caitlyn Coryell. Cate
also possesses the fae magic, but she's unaware of it.
About to be married to a man who's betrayed her love, Cate
leaps at the chance for an adventure back in time with the
gorgeous warrior. But what Cate thought was going to be a
quick day or two and a wedding, turns into weeks.
There are others who would prevent the marriage taking
place and danger surrounds an innocent Cate. Connor has
sworn to protect her and keep her from harm, even at the
cost of his own life. Cate falls in love with the mighty
warrior, but until he can admit to being in love with her,
the fae magic keeps her stuck in time...and in danger.
With a nice mix of historical and contemporary, this time-
travel romance is believable and both hero and heroine are
strong. In Melissa Mayhue's debut, she's done a good
job of mixing the times and building the relationship
between the characters. She creates situations that bring
the two together, even as the hero fights the relationship.
The heroine is natural and behaves just as you would expect
a modern-day woman thrown back into medieval Scotland to
act. An enjoyable read.

what he must do to save his sister. Enter a little Faerie
