Romance Paranormal | Romance Historical

Rose MacDonell, a witch, a healer and the youngest of three gifted sisters, is unable to ascertain her father, Alan MacDonell's, illness; therefore she's unable to heal him. She can only give him as much comfort as possible.

Rose has written 10 letters asking for William McKay, Lord Strathwick, the wizard of the north's, help, but to no avail. He hasn't answered a single letter. If anyone can help her father, it's him. Rose decides to travel north and ask for his help in person.

After much pressure and toil, Rose convinces McKay to travel south and to at least look at her father. William teaches Rose more about her healing powers, and she finds herself as her mind and passion bloom along the way. The attraction between them is undeniable, but Rose is betrothed to Jamie MacPherson.

William surmises dark magic is at work within the confines of Glen Laire. As Rose and William work to uncover the evil, they discover a powerful magic between themselves and an inevitable destiny.

There is much more to this story as it unfolds. Ms. Holling weaves many elements seamlessly into a final climactic ending. The age-old struggle between good and evil is the essential element and it works very well. MY SHADOW WARRIOR is an enjoyable and tense read, especially toward the end.

SUMMARY

Rose, the youngest of the MacDonell sisters, is more concerned with her father's mysterious illness than with her impending marriage to her childhood sweetheart. A gifted but frustrated healer, she decides to beg help from William MacKay -- a reclusive laird who is renowned not only for his ferocity, but also for his healing powers. Denied entry to his fortress in the cold, harsh mountains of the far northwestern highlands, Rose uses cunning to force her way in, and William is duly intrigued with this bold slip of a girl. But securing his help may not be enough to save Rose's father. For there is something darker at work in the glen, something more powerful than William's and Rose's magic combined, and only the soul-deep passion that shadows their mutual desire can help their love prevail.
