During a raid, soldiers fulfilling their duty to king and country find a cup they believe is the Holy Grail. Deciding to drink from the cup to cure all of their ailments, they soon realize it's the Blood Grail from which they drink. All of them transform into creatures of the night, otherwise known as Vampires. When the soldiers turn to the church for guidance, the church marks them with the sign of the cross and new names, and they are fated to become protectors of the Blood Grail.

Marika Korzha and her band of men search for vampires and other creatures of the night with one focus -- kill the vampire who murdered her mother, the one they call Saint. Their search leads them to the Fararas mountain region and Bishop, one of the protectors of the Blood Grail. Marika and Bishop are not prepared for the strong attraction they feel for one another, but Marika's determination to find Saint may ultimately destroy not only herself, but also Bishop and their newfound love.

Kathryn Smith captures your attention and pulls you into this magnificent story with ease. I absolutely loved the characters and the storyline. This is the second release in her Brotherhood of Blood series, after BE MINE TONIGHT (7/06), and I'm extremely excited to read the next book.
