Jason Mitchell has just been traded to the big time and is now playing on the hockey team of his dreams -- the New York Blades. As he walks Stanley, his newfie that's not used to big city living, Jason meets and charms Delilah Gould. As a dog trainer, walker, boarder and owner of The Bed and Biscuit, Delilah loves dogs and loves her job. To Jason, Delilah is a godsend. Because of the amount of time he has to travel, Jason has to find someone to care for Stanley in his absence. But Delilah only boards dogs that are trained and Stanley is far from that.
Jason finds something very special about this frizzy-haired cutie who isn't bothered by Stanley's drool. He wants to get to know her better -- much better. And Delilah hasn't been this attracted to a guy in a very long time. This hockey player with the big dog and great smile is special -- very special.
Hockey players, being a superstitious bunch and having a driving force to win "the cup," are full of advice. And the latest from Jason's teammates is that you can't be fully "on your game" and be in a new relationship at the same time. It just doesn't work; your concentration is off.
Jason has a new job, a new girl he's crazy about, a needy dog and an obsession to play the best hockey of his life. Can he balance it all out and still win the cup? Walk the streets of New York with Delilah and her four-legged friends, glide across the ice with the newest member of the Blades and feel your heart melt for two people who are meant to be together. Do they make a winning team?
CHASING STANLEY is a treasure. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll cheer and you'll celebrate. What Ms. Martin does to a hockey story is pure magic. There's a secondary cast of characters who are delightful with a few from hockey stories past, which were fun to hear from once again. CHASING STANLEY is another "cup" winner. You'll be entertained, you'll be charmed, you'll be a hockey fan, once again, and cheering in the end. Don't miss it.
