Rory O'Grady knows there's a better future for her and her father than dancing in a saloon for two-bits a dance. She dreams of settling down with her "knight" in a cozy little house with a white picket fence.
Garth Fraser has survived the war and is determined to find his favorite uncle's lost gold mine. He stops in a saloon on his way west and meets the beautiful, stubborn and feisty woman of his dreams -- Rory.
Even though Garth has all the qualities Rory has always hoped and dreamed for in a husband, her father ruins Rory's hope for a future with Garth when he steals Garth's map of the gold mine. The three of them end up in the town of Hope, looking for the mine, discovering danger in the mountains. It's not long before losing one's heart and finding the treasures that love brings is the greatest discovery of all.
Thank you, Ms. Leigh for continuing to write about the American West. It's been so much fun reading about the Fraser brothers and the women who brought them to their knees. HIS BOOTS UNDER HER BED is a touching story with equal parts laughter and adventure -- pure bliss. Ms. Leigh reveals our hero and heroine's inner dreams as we slowly become enchanted. This reads like a beautiful fairy tale you're sorry to see end.
