Manhattan lawyer, Genevieve Spenser had a "no brainer" assignment. All she had to do was deliver papers to Texas billionaire Harry Van Dorn, have him sign them, and she'd be on her way. Harry was known for his philanthropic generosity, and his eccentric yacht wasn't bad either. The man seemed like an oversized, innocent pup needing a little pat on the head, so why not stay awhile. It was a bit of an inconvenience, but not the worst case scenario. That was not until she didn't leave when prompted by the ruthless Committee. The Committee's representative, Peter Jensen, was the most stone cold ghost of a man Genevieve had ever met. His still waters ran deep, and his promise of making her fish bait along with Harry made her want him with a passion she had not had in years.
Peter wasn't the only one with deep secrets. Harry's white knight act was a facade seven fold. When his Rule of Seven started to crumble, it was Genevieve he wanted as the brunt of his revenge. For Genevieve, it was like being caught between the Devil and the deep blue sea. Her world became more surreal with every turn of event, and she no longer knew whom to trust. All she knew was if she was going to have a ghost of a chance, it would have to be with the man she loved to hate.
It was apparent to me why Ms. Stuart has won a host of awards for her writing. COLD AS ICE had a brilliant plot with multi-faceted characters and exemplary settings. Her heroes maintained an air of reality as their lives got messy. She managed to keep the pace racing while tangling her reader in a web of intrigue. Her ability to temper passion with the dispassionate, and the dark side of humanity with the will do to good was amazing. Never was there a cold moment in this book. It sizzled.
The job was supposed to be dead easyβhand-deliver some

Manhattan lawyer Genevieve Spenser soon realizes she's in
the wrong place at the wrong time, and that the publicly
benevolent playboy has a sick, vicious side. As he tries to
make her his plaything for the evening, eager to use and
abuse her until he discards her with the rest of his
victims, Genevieve must keep her wits if she intends to
survive the night.
But there's someone else on the ship who knows the true
depths of Van Dorn's evil. Peter Jensen is far more than
the unassuming personal assistant he pretends to beβhe's a
secret operative who will stop at nothing to ensure Harry's
deadly Rule of Seven terror campaign dies with him. But
Genevieve's presence has thrown a wrench into his plans,
