The MacElder chieftain decrees that his cousin, Fiona, will
wed the mighty warrior Tarr of Hellewyk to provide
protection for their clan. Tales of Fiona's courage and
hunting skills have spread through the land and have
attracted the attention of Tarr, who wishes a strong mate.
Fiona vehemently denies her chieftain's order. She wishes
to choose her own husband. To foil her cousin's plan, Fiona
conspires with her identical twin not to divulge their
identities. Fiona will assert Aliss' calm and placid
nature, while Aliss will behave in a bold and forceful
manner.
Amused at the attempt to prevent the wedding, Tarr accepts
a postponement until he can tell the women apart. He wants
a wife with substance and courage, and his sparring matches
with the women prove he has found an acceptable woman.
Wedding either one would be agreeable, but he's drawn more
to the warrior woman rather than the healer. When an attack
occurs on his clan, he returns, taking both women with him.
Tarr refuses to accept the twins are besting him.
Fiona fears separation from her clan, but the patience Tarr
shows draws her to him. When a surprise from the past
brings peril, Fiona and Tarr must unite to defeat the
danger.
Ms. Fletcher pits humor and romance against an action and
adventure novel with good results. Readers will enjoy the
headstrong Fiona and look forward to Aliss' tale.
Two of a kind...
Fiery Fiona MacElder will not marry a man she does not
love. Her laird will just have to find another way to merge
two powerful Highland clans. Luckily, her identical twin
sister shares her outrage. So when the bold warrior Tarr of
Hellewyk arrives to claim Fiona as his bride, the sisters
stand united, each refusing to divulge the other's true
identity.
No battlefield has offered a more daunting challenge than
the one Tarr now faces: two stubborn, secretive Scottish
beauties and only one who can share his marriage bed. The
only solution is to take both home with him until he
determines which is his rightful bride. As Fiona's desire
grows for this powerful, passionate man she has sworn never
to wed, Tarr wonders if the twin he aches for is truly his
intended. And in the face of a sensuous deception -- and a
dire threat from an unexpected enemy -- will a yearning,
loving heart show the way?
