For years, Lady Katherne Linsay has been in her uncle's care. And he's taken every advantage, treating her like the help and trying to force himself on her, until Martha, a servant, comes to her aid. Running to London is the only chance the two have, for they're sure to hang. With a price on their heads, they travel only at night. However, when Jeremy Hughes, a strolling player, encounters them, he turns them in for the reward. Determined not to like Jeremy, Kit nonetheless is intrigued by him. When Jeremy rescues Kit and Martha from the constable, Kit agrees to work her way to London.
When London catches fire and Jeremy comes after her, Kit realizes her feelings are more than just intrigue. However, she won't let any man be her master and agrees that they continue as lovers. While acting on stage, Kit is sure she sees her uncle. Jeremy instructs her not to go about town without an escort, but Kit is determined to do as she pleases and is kidnapped.
Finding herself in the dungeon of her former home, Kit soon learns that her uncle plans to marry her for her dowry. When she refuses, she's taken to room and discovers that her father is still alive. Jeremy seeks out the people who once worked for Kit's father in devising a rescue plan. Instinct pays off and Kit and her father are reunited after many years. Jeremy declares his love for Kit, but it will be difficult to figure out a way to convince her to become his wife.
LADY KATHERNE'S WILD RIDE is a big wow of a book! A lot of things are going on making it very exciting to read. The characters are fabulous and I truly adored them all. Kit is determined and hard-headed, but all woman. Jeremy is arrogant, hard-headed, all man and his love is potent. I recommend this story highly.
