Kate Huntington

Kate Huntington fell in love with the Regency period as a high school sophomore in Huntington, Indiana, when she was forced to read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen in English class. It changed her life. She graduated from high school, went to college to earn a bachelor of arts degree in English and secondary education, became a newspaper reporter and then an editor for a succession of newspapers in Huntington and Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the Chicago suburbs, but what she really wanted to do was write a book. She figured she'd do that . . . someday.

Then her 40th birthday loomed hideously on the horizon and she realized it was now or never.

So, she left suburban journalism in favor of a secretarial job with regular hours and spent her nights and weekends writing a traditional Regency romance novel. A year later, she got it published. And the rest, as they say, is history.

In addition to penning over a dozen Regency romance novels and novellas for Zebra Regency Romance, she has written a contemporary novel as Kate Ivers for the now defunct Berkley line, Jove Irish Eyes. She has also written several science fiction/fantasy/horror short stories under her real name of Kathy Chwedyk for various anthologies.
