Joan Elizabeth Lloyd

I wrote my first book, "Nice Couples Do," in 1990, because I wanted to share my ideas about sexual communication and sexual freedom. Those ideas? First, that erotica can be used to lessen the risks of sexual communication. Second, that anything two consenting adults want to do behind closed doors is none of anyone's business. Period. And I do mean anything. Anal sex, oral sex, D/S, bondage, spanking, erotic massage. Anything. And third, that sex is, and should always be, fun. Erotica for sexual communication? If you want to share a secret desire with your partner, slip a bookmark in a story, article or letter about your desire and give the writing to him or her. You'll be saying something wonderful: that you want to share a secret desire with your one and only. You don't want to find someone new; rather you want to play together. How delicious. Beside writing, what else have I done in my life? I taught 7th and 8th grade for twelve years and designed and programmed advanced computer systems for the commodities industry for five years after that. I volunteer a lot of my time with my local ambulance corps, play a pretty good game of bridge, do aerobics and needlework of all kinds (I donate much of what I make to a wonderful organization called Project Linus that gives hand made afghans to critically ill children) and watch sports and dumb stuff on TV. Yes, you may have gathered, I'm a devoted couch potato.
