Lora Kenton

Lora Kenton grew up in both the rural South and the old cities of Europe. She has lived among the volcanic orange groves of Sicily, the bullfights and strumming flamenco guitars of Spain, the fairytales of the land of the midnight sun - Norway, and the Anatolian cradle of ancient civilizations in Turkey.

Lora Kenton is the pen name of romance writing partners and best friends Astrid Haugen and Susan Sipal. They promised each other during their days at Guilford College that "one day" they would write one of their beloved historical romance novels together. But marriage, children, and travels sidetracked the dream. Then one day, magic happened...

Susan, a North Carolina native, lived with her husband in his homeland of Turkey for several years. She loves to spend time laughing and crying with her characters. When not writing, Susan volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and chases 2 kids... and 25 chickens.

Astrid lived many years in Europe, and speaks four languages, but calls North Carolina home. She has written fiction and poetry her whole life. After a day working as a biologist, she still goes home to write... when her small son, Kent, allows.
