Vicki Hendricks

Vicki Hendricks is the author of noir novels Miami Purity, Iguana Love, Voluntary Madness, and Sky Blues. Her short story "ReBecca" appears in Best American Erotica 2000, and "Stormy, Mon Amour" appears in the collection Tart Noir in 2002. The short story "Gators" is included in Flesh & Blood published in 2001. She lives in South Florida where she precariously juggles her day job, the teaching of college writing, with her hobbies and adventures, including SCUBA diving, rock-climbing, bird-watching, sailing, and most recent obsession skydiving. "It's all research!" she says of her life. Having made over 500 skydives, she tries to capture the feeling of freefall alongside the sex and murder in Sky Blues. She is currently working on Cruel Poetry, her next novel. Also underway is a biography of adventure to include skydiving in Spain, swimming with the pink dolphins in the Amazon, climbing a volcano in Guatemala and sailing the Devil's Triangle, as well as her trips dogsledding in Finland and Alaska and shark diving in South Africa.
