Wilma Fasano
Wilma was born in a rural area of Western Alberta. One of
her earliest memories was of sitting on the porch of the
old farmhouse scribbling on lined paper with a stubby lead
pencil. When her mother asked what she was doing, her
proud answer was, “Writing letters to the cats.”
After that, school and life got in the way. Wilma spent
most of her adult years going to school, working, and
taking care of her family. She taught high school English
and was too busy correcting the writing of other people to
do any of her own. At the same time, she did the usual
mommy things—carted off kids to figure skating, minor
hockey, music lessons, scouts—you get the picture. Most of
us have gone there.
In fact, Wilma didn’t get back to serious writing until
said kids left home. Then she took early retirement and
began to write romances.
Wilma has lived in Minnesota, Colorado, Alberta, Northern
Manitoba, and Nova Scotia. She has traveled extensively in
Australia, New Zealand, and Scotland. At the moment, she
lives with her husband Jim in a renovated lake cottage
(Nova Scotia) in the summer, and in a mobile-home park
(Florida) in the winter.
Wilma is a member of TARA and of RWA. She’s had three
books published, all by Avalon: Weekend Romance, June,
1999; Love Song, December, 1999; and The Love Game, June,
2001.
