Janie Steele

Janie Steele is a lifelong storyteller. Starting life early—married at sixteen and a mom by twenty—life kept her busy raising four children. But stories always found their way back to her. That love began in elementary school, where she discovered theatre and dramatic interpretation—spaces where stories could be spoken, felt, and lived out loud. Her mind still fills with fragments: characters, scenes, voices that appear and vanish like flashes.

She loves writing a variety of stories, poems, and songs—drawn from a deep well of experience and a sharp awareness of both the beauty and brutality in the world.
