Aleese Lin

Aleese Lin writes about fun things, pretty things, and monsters.

She has received multiple honors, including being named a 2022 Lambda Literary fellow and a Tin House workshop alumnus. Her debut novel, SAMANTHA SPÜK: PARANORMAL WEDDING PLANNER will release in late summer 2026 with Saga Press. She is also a contributor to the upcoming climate fiction anthology, ONWARD (Charlesbridge, 2026).

After winning several national writing awards in her teens, Aleese moved from Texas to Tokyo to complete her Bachelor’s in Japan Studies. Following a short stint modeling, an internship at the Embassy of Afghanistan, and travel to over twenty-five countries, she taught at the oldest girl’s school in Japan. From there she completed a Master’s degree in Education in Bristol, U.K. and returned stateside to teach middle and high school. Aleese enjoys opportunities to engage with the writing community, both through teaching and by hosting low-cost writing retreats, and volunteers as an ESL educator and coordinator.

Presently, she lives with her family in a hillside cottage overlooking the Boston area.
