Eliette Abecassis

Eliette Abécassis is a French writer and philosopher, born in Strasbourg.

She is the daughter of Armand Abécassis, a philosophy professor and renowned thinker on Judaism.

Her work includes esoteric thrillers (the Qumran trilogy, Sépharade, Le Palimpseste d’Archimède), intimate and contemporary books (Mon père, Un heureux événement, Une affaire conjugale, etc), and essays (Petite métaphysique du meurtre, Le livre des passeurs).

Eliette Abécassis also writes for the theatre (La Fiancée Orientale), film (Kadosh, Un heureux événement) and French chanson. She regularly appears on television (Les grandes questions, Franz-Olivier Giesbert on France 5) and radio (France Inter), and works with newspapers such as the Huffington Post, Elle, Le Figaro and La Croix, writing literary criticism and offering a philosophical perspective on current affairs.

The author of “Corset invisible”, she is involved with a number of associations that defend the rights of women and children and combat violence against women: Le CorP, which she helped to set up to combat the commodification of women and children, Exils intra muros, which defends families living on the streets, and Arcé-Avenir Femmes.

Eliette Abécassis has also written about the world of fashion (Mère et fille), and regularly collaborates with leading designers and luxury brands (Louis Vuitton, Lancel, Guerlain).
