Mark DeMeza

Mark DeMeza

Mark is best known for writing enthralling historical fiction novels, which take place during World War II. He’s particularly interested in those actual events and characters which are perhaps less well known but still represent compelling and moving human stories.

His thorough research gives his readers a vivid insight into the people and places of the time, and his plots provide fascinating and emotional stories.

Eleven of Mark’s Dutch Jewish ancestors were murdered by the Nazis in Auschwitz and Sobibor, and it is preserving the memory of those poor souls which drives him to research and write about those times.

Mark has also produced many award-winning short stories.

His debut novel, The Thirteenth Child, was shortlisted for the CIBA Hemingway award for 20th century fiction and was a kindle no1 bestseller several times. It forms part of the series The Rachael Kisch Trilogy.

Mark lives in the North of England where he spends most of his time writing and researching future projects with his patient black and white cat for company.

He would love to hear from you via his website, Instagram, or Facebook.
