Lisa Cerasoli

Lisa Cerasoli

Lisa Cerasoli started her career in the arts as an actor in Los Angeles in 1995. She was a series regular on daytime’s General Hospital and had recurring roles on several nighttime series, including The Pretender, before getting bit by the writing bug. In 2003, she left L.A. for Michigan to take care of her ailing father. This is where she was able to focus on a career in writing. Her first novel, On the Brink of Bliss and Insanity was published in 2009 (Silver Medal, ForeWord magazine’s Book of the Year for Romance). Her memoir, As Nora Jo Fades Away, was published in 2010. It garnered five national and international awards (London, Paris, Los Angeles Book Festivals) and is optioned for television.

In 2011, Lisa directed and executive produced (w/Ken Atchity) the documentary short 14 Days with Alzheimer’s to expose dementia-related illnesses to younger generations. The film was an official selection in 16 film festivals nationwide, and she spoke all over the country about the joys and hardships of caregiving.

Lisa founded 529 Books, an editorial and book design company, in 2013. In its twelfth year, the company has developed and edited over 1,000 books for independent publishing, including 100+ thrillers and crime novels with over 300,000 reviews on Amazon. She is also a VP at Atchity’s company, Story Merchant Books, where she is a ghostwriter, screenwriter, writing coach, and assists writers at all levels of editing and publishing. There’s nothing that inspires her more than a writer with a dream and a story—except her adult daughter, Jazz, who is her favorite everything.

Lisa currently lives in San Diego with Jazz, spending summers in Marquette, a beautiful, picturesque town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan built along the shores of the great Lake Superior. She enjoys hiking, yoga, all things DIY, walking the family Yorkie Poos, binging great series—her all-time fave is The Big Bang Theory—and audiobooks. She’s got it bad for a great audiobook, especially those narrated by voice actors with European accents. She's authored or coauthored eleven books and counting.
