Douglas R. Miller

Douglas R. Miller

Douglas R. Miller was born and educated in Pennsylvania, obtaining his bachelor degree from Washington and Jefferson College with majors in biology and chemistry. He then migrated to New York where he got his Ph.D. in medical physiology from Cornell University and where he met and married the love of his life, Jane. After doing a postdoc at Massachusetts General Hospital, he worked as a research scientist at several companies and universities. Dr. Miller wrote several hundred scientific papers, research grants, patents and a laboratory manual. His research was mainly in the areas of arthritis, cancer, bone and soft tissue repair, several areas of electrochemistry (who would have guessed- his least favorite subject) and food safety. He is now retired in Texas where he and his wife plan to stay with their dog and cat and a pond full of bass and catfish, if it doesn't dry up due to the climate change. He also dabbles in writing science fiction since he particularly knows the science part,.
