Angel M. Hunter is a resident of Simpsonville, SC, native of New Jersey, is an Essence Bestselling Author, Director, Fitness Instructor and Life Coach. She is one of the original five authors that signed with Urban Books, a subsidiary of Kensington under the management of Carl Weber. She has one son, Anthony Shacquille Irby

She is the author of “Turned On” (2009), "Sister Girl 2" (2008), "Sister Girl (2006)" "Faking It" (2007), and "Turned Out (2007)" She also co-authored "Around the Way Girl (2004)" and "A Dollar and A Dream (2005). She co-wrote a movie script “Without Fear” (www.withoutfearthemovie.com) that is currently in preproduction. She has directed theatre and produced a short film, an area she wishes to pursue further.

Ms. Hunter is the founder of a non-profit organization called, "The Essence of Self Center". The organization provides self-improvement creative workshops for women and teens. She is also the founder of a lifestyle and fitness program called "SisterFit".

She is currently working on several projects which include a self-help book, a teen series and Sister Girl 3. Her mission is to change the lives and minds of people through her god-given talents and to continue developing work and projects that have integrity, are authentic and reflect real life experiences.
