Greg Pruett
Greg Pruett has been president of Pioneer Bible Translators, based in Dallas, since January 2007. Greg, along with his wife, Rebecca, and their three children, lived in West Africa for more than twelve years, where they completed a translation of the entire Bible into the Yalunka language and shared Christ's love with people who traditionally follow the Qur'an. Greg continues to help with church planting efforts among the Yalunka through Internet and cell phone contact with their church leadership and by yearly visits to West Africa. He has a degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M, a master's from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. He also has linguistic training from the University of North Dakota and the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics.
Greg enjoys taking long strolls through the African bush with a rifle. He loves to take his wife out on dates sometimes to eat enchiladas in Texas or sometimes to plant churches in rural West Africa.
One of Greg's hobbies is to work on Agro-forestry projects with his friends in West Africa. Together they have planted thousands of fruit trees to help people feed their families and increase their income to leverage them out of poverty.
Greg loves telling stories about the Bible-less peoples of the world and how Jesus is moving in the Church today to cross the last language barriers on earth with Church and Scripture in the local language.
