Mike is a UK bestselling author, best known for his Cumbrian based crime and thriller novels starring Washington Poe and Tilly Bradshaw, which have been published in 26 countries. The fifth and latest book in this series is The Botanist, currently available in hardback, audio, and e-book. The paperback was released on 24th November 2022.

His new series, starring ex-US Marshal Ben Koenig, is set in the United States, where it will be published 11 July 2023 (29 June 2023 in the UK), and has already been picked up by a major streamer. His Washington Poe series, which has been optioned for TV in the past, has also had significant renewed interest.
