Alisa Lynn Valdés is a New York Times, USA Today and Amazon No. 1 bestselling author in the suspense/thriller, commercial women's fiction and young adult space. With a bachelor's degree in jazz performance on the tenor saxophone from Berklee College of Music, and a master's in journalism from Columbia University, Alisa spent ten years as an award-winning journalist for the Boston Globe and Los Angeles Times before turning to novels. She lives in New Mexico, where she was born and where her Spanish and indigenous maternal roots go back at least 13 generations. Her father was born in the nation of Cuba, and moved to New Mexico at the age of 15. Alisa was named one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics by Time Magazine, a CNN 100 Most Influential Hispanics, a Latina Magazine Woman of the Year, and best local author by Albuquerque the Magazine. She is the proud recipient of a literary achievement award from the United States Hispanic Congressional Caucus. In addition to writing novels, Alisa co-directs the Santa Fe Writers Institute. She is a single mother and empty nester, nature lover, and one of the more than 40 million Americans living with new debilitating chronic illness due to Long Covid.
