Michael Mayo

Michael Mayo

Michael Mayo’s (b. 1948) Jimmy Quinn suspense novels are pulp adventures set in Prohibition-era New York. They reflect the criminal enterprises, politics, and sexual and racial attitudes of those tumultuous times. As such, they are often rude and offensive to more sensitive standards. He has written about film for the Washington Post and the Roanoke Times. His non-fiction includes “American Murder: Criminals, Crime, and the Media”; “Videohound’s Horror Show” and “War Movies.” He edited three volumes of “The DVD Guide,” and was the host of the nationally syndicated radio programs Movie Show on Radio and Max and Mike on the Movies.
