I was not abused as a child. I did not have an unhappy childhood. I did not grow up in a poor family. My parents did not divorce. My mother was not a prostitute, and my father was not an alcoholic. I wasn't a bad student. I didn't get into fights or run away from home.   I was not the best student. I wasn’t the best heavy metal bass guitarist. I haven't slept with five thousand women. I'm not an ex-spy. I never stole a car or drove a plane. I haven't traveled the world. I haven't won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Palme d'Or, a Golden Bear, a Pulitzer... yet. My works have not been translated into eight hundred twenty-six languages and are not sold in two hundred sixty countries.   I haven't written forty-five books. I don’t have my own blog, podcast, or YouTube channel. I don't even have my own website. I don't have two hundred million fans. I haven't been married three times. I don't have six children. I've never been to China. I was never a war reporter in Libya, Iraq, or Afghanistan.   I’m just a writer. My children, Aleksa and Milica, are my writing partners.
