Patrick Chiles

Patrick Chiles has been fascinated with airplanes, rockets, and spaceflight for as long as he can remember. How he ended up as an English major in college is still a mystery, though he managed to overcome this self-inflicted handicap to pursue a career in aviation.He is a graduate of The Citadel, a Marine Corps veteran and licensed pilot. His novels are informed by a life spent around aircraft and the people who make them fly, convincingly portraying a near-future space industry filled with ordinary people doing extraordinary things.Patrick has also written for magazines such as Smithsonian's Air & Space. After raising their children in Ohio, he currently resides in Tennessee with his wife and two lethargic dachshunds. He is published by Baen Books.
