Ruth Reiner

Ruth Reiner

"The Singing Widow of a Buddhist Priest," is my first of a series of novels. My special connection with both Japan and with writing started at a young age. Many aspects of the book are based on my own life story.

At the age of twenty-four, I was invited to spend one year with the Japanese Shinto community, “Oomoto,” living on the grounds of their Shinto shrine in Kameoka, a city in the countryside of Kyoto.

A few years later, I graduated from the University of Hawaii and the Japan-American Institute of Management Science with a Japan focused MBA and spent a decade leading business negotiations between Japanese and non-Japanese firms.

I love Japan as much as I love good chick-lit. This book is a great read for both Japan lovers as well as those who can enjoy light-reading.
