Charles Puccia is the author of four Vinnie Briggs Mystery books and working on his fifth. His series examine contemporary social issues and mature themes. Detour Man, the latest in the VB sequel examines childhood fear that generates long-term repercussions. His other novels explore obsession, love, inclusion, privilege, and murder. His main PI uses instinct and common sense to solve crimes aided by two level-headed women co-investigators. Unusual characters fuel the complex stories. He contends with his professional bodybuilder husband who worries about Vinnie’s safety.

He integrates the complexity learned in his study of systems ecology at M.I.T. He has spent the last decade reading real-life stories and mystery novels to give his protagonists realistic eccentricities. He enjoys techno-gadgets when the work and uses the non-technological solution—a hammer—to fix those that don’t.
