Allen Madding

Allen Madding

Allen Madding is an advocate for families, children, the hungry and the homeless. He is a follower of the way, writer, blogger, guitar player, hiker, traveler, car guy, Atlanta Braves and Dallas Cowboys fan, and an Information Technology professional who lives with his wife Allison in St. Petersburg, Florida. Growing up in Mitchell county in rural South Georgia, he developed a love for hunting, fishing, and racing cars. He raced short track stock cars for nine years while operating a local computer store in his hometown and served as a volunteer fireman and EMT. He moved to Atlanta in 2000 taking a fulltime job in Information Technology management, and began writing weekly contributions for Speedway Media and then Insider Racing News. After a short-term mission trip to Venezuela in 2011, he became keenly aware of the level of hunger in his community and began seeking a way to contribute. Allen and Allison launched Feed the Hungry Forsyth, Inc., a nonprofit food rescue organization in Cumming, Georgia, in December 2011 to collect unsold food from area restaurants and delivering to community food pantries. Together they have supported Habitat for Humanity participating in over 14 home builds, and they currently volunteer in the Build-a-Bed ministry of Bridgepoint Community Church building and delivering beds to children who do not have their own beds.
