Collette Auclair

Collette Auclair

I began life in Pittsburgh, writing horse stories in notebooks. After studying theater and advertising at Northwestern University, I spent my formative years as a copywriter in Manhattan. Then I landed in Colorado and accidentally wrote my contemporary romance, THROWN--featuring horses, an Olympic rider, Aspen and a movie star. It was a finalist in the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart awards. I live near Denver with my actor husband, elegant Thoroughbred mare and put-upon Portuguese water dog. How did I accidentally write my first novel? I had been laid off and thought, "Now I have time to write my screenplay!" My husband convinced me to take a screenwriting class. After the class, I had an outline for a romantic comedy but decided to write the movie as a novel. That was THROWN, and there was no going back.
