Edward T. Bednarz III, Ph

Edward T. Bednarz III, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Wilkes University in northeast Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he worked for 12 years as a senior mechanical engineer for the US Army at the Aberdeen Test Center in Maryland and at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in PA. While he enjoyed his job as an engineer, he decided to pursue his dream of being a college professor. Dr. Bednarz took a major risk in giving up a tenured government job to initially take a visiting professor position. He is happy that the gamble paid off and enjoys teaching immensely. Dr. Bednarz wrote a fiction story titled “The Journey to Discover the Meaning of Life” that chronicles a family through their journey. In it, the characters go through unexplainable coincidences, extreme hardships, the discovery of love and faith, as well as many other interesting events. Above all, the story aims to answer the question “What is the meaning of life?” Dr. Bednarz uniquely combines logic and emotion which he has demonstrated time and time again in his own life. While his engineering background allows him to have an analytical mind, he has learned to trust his heart for the major decisions in his life because he feels that is how God nudges us in the right direction of where we should be.
