Seth Koven

Seth Koven is a modern European historian of women and gender, culture, and sexuality at Rutgers University and the author of Slumming: Sexual and Social Politics in Victorian London. He is completing a book, “The Match Girl and the Heiress,” about love and friendship between women and revolutionary Christianity. In the spring 2011 academic term, Thomas Laqueur, Koven, and their UC Berkeley seminar members explored the history of humanitarianism from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries.
